Newry Swimming & Water Polo Club
Newry Swimming Club is one of Northern Ireland’s oldest swimming organisations. It has a vibrant history, dating back to its founding in the early 20th century. Located in Newry, County Down, the club has played a central role in promoting swimming and water polo as a sport in the region and providing a safe, inclusive environment for athletes of all ages and abilities.
Newry Swimming Club is an integral part of Northern Ireland’s competitive swimming and water polo circuit. The club has consistently participated in regional and national competitions, fostering young talent and producing swimmers and water polo players who would go on to represent Ireland and Ulster at various levels, including national championships and international meets.
Due to the unfortunate closure of the swimming pool in March 2024, the swimming element of the club is currently unable to compete in the 24/25 swimming season. Once the pool is reopened in 2025, the club will continue to drive the competitive end of the club. If you have any queries or need information on joining please use the contact details below.
